This is a simple but beautiful meditation practice that can be practiced any place and anytime. But for the purpose of formal practice it is best to practice this in a place where you will be undisturbed for 5 minutes and where you can comfortably close your eyes.
Mindfulness of Breath
Without breath there is no life. It is always with us, but is often absent from our awareness when we feel strong emotions. If you pay attention to your breathing, you may notice how your breath changes with your mood. It may be short and shallow when you are tense or angry, or faster when you are excited, slow and full when you are relaxed, and almost absent when you are anxious. The breath is an anchor to bring stability and equanimity in our daily lives.
